I bought this DVD when it was on sale, and although I never heard of this movie before, I was interested in buying it because it’s starred by Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson. It tells a story of Chris Vaughn (Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson), a retired soldier who moves back to his hometown. What he finds there in his hometown surprises him. Now the town where he used to live turns into a town full of crimes: drugs and violence everywhere. When finally Vaughn was elected a sheriff, he then tries to make things right and in order. Does he finally succeed in his effort to make his hometown a peaceful place like it used to be?

The premise of the movie is simple, or somewhat weak in some point, and the actions are not spectacular. Many times I was forced to see unnecessary scenes and The Rock’s role and performance in this movie is too common for a big star like him. This is probably the movie that I wish I would have never watched. There’s nothing special about this movie, and even no messages implied. It’s just about violence, beatings, shootings and all kind of stuffs without having to consider either the art of a story or the actualization in the dialogs and actions. Well, for me it’s not worth-watching. I even wanted to turn my DVD player off before the movie came to the end. I wouldn’t recommend it...
