Every year my kids and I take an affordable vacation to Treasure Island Florida. The main reason why we stay on Treasure Island is due to it's location. Our home is only a short 45 minute drive away, and that includes traffic time. There is several places to stay in Treasure Island, but this year our main goal was to find some place cheap. We don't really ever use the grills, or free breach chairs, so why not find a place that has a little less to offer, but we'd have enough money to stay 4 nights. Being that we stay on Treasure Island every year, we knew what the Page Terrace looked like, and the rates was amazing.
THE PAGE TERRACE
The outside of the building shows it's age with it's 70's style that is in need of updating. However it looks clean. The total cost for a 4 night stay was under $350.00 which included a normal room, with a small kitchen. Even thought the room was very outdated, it was clean. However, as soon as we got unpacked and walked out to look around we noticed something odd. Almost all of the other guest was over 60 years old. There was only one family staying there with kids, and one set of grandparents who had their small grandchild with them.
My kids couldn't do anything! They were asked not to splash at all in the pool. My son was asked to leave the pool area because the was splashing when he was only swimming. My kids were told not to use the snack machines even though I was standing right beside them. The bickering went on until we left which was 2 days early. The hotel did not charge us for the nights we did not stay, which is the only good thing I have to say about the trip. The Page Terrace should advertise as a retirement hotel not a family hotel. We will never go back there, and warn anyone who plans to.
