I am the biggest fan of nude colors. I shy away from anything bold and bright. When I've worn red lipstick, you better believe I looked like a clown. I think many women can pull off red and other brights, as it's a classic look, but for me, it just doesn't look right for whatever reason.

Nudes are those colors that are close to ones' liptone (and sometimes skintone) and are usually soft-looking. I enter the "Free Stuff" giveaways on Allure.com every month and when I saw this lipstick being given away in July, I was really excited about it. The name of it was "Natural, " so I was like, "Yes. This is right up my subued alley!"

With these giveaways, you don't know if you win right away and you don't automatically win everything you enter. Although I wanted this a lot, there was a possibility that I wouldn't get it. But, luckily, I did! The packaging of this is very cool and unique. It is completely see-through. It is the only lipstick I own that has a tube that looks like that. I like that when I'm rooting around through my cosmetic bag, I can easily spot this one.

I love the way this looks on me! At first, I thought this would be a universal color, but I tried it on my mom and she looked sick with it on. She looks better with warmer, darker colors and actually pulls off those bright, punchy colors. Just for reference, she is fair, but a bit darker than me, on the warm side, and has light brown/dark blonde hair with dark brown eyes. The lipstick washed her out. On me, it looks perfect - the best nude! My coloring is fair on the cool side, dark brown eyes and black hair. I really like how this feels on. Even though my mom hated how it looked on her, she remarked at how supremely moisturizing it felt. When I was swatching this to take pictures for this review, I was really shocked at how orangey it looked. I thought the color was a straight up, beigey-caramel nude when I looked at it in the tube, but I was wrong. I didn't realize I could pull off a color that had an orange cast. You learn new things everyday, I guess!
