I have been a member of Weight Watchers since April 2008 and have lost 26 of the 65 lbs. I would like to loose. I resisted trying WW for a number of years due to the high cost (currently, $12 weekly plus $20 registration fee for Pay As You Go option), but after gaining another 15 lbs. whithin a year, I knew the time had come! I found that Weight Watchers gives you a choice of being an on-line or an on-site member. I chose the on-site option because I was afraid I could not trust myself to be accountable TO myself every week. I also chose the Montly Pass method of payment. This is an option that will save you almost $3.00 per week! Plus, you pay no registration fee and receive full WW on-line privilages. The down side is that you have to use a credit or debit card to take advantage of Monthly Pass and they usually bill you 2 weeks into your current cycle. What this means is that if you decide to cancel, you will probably still have 2 weeks remaining on your pass. For me this is a good thing, making me think twice before throwing in the towel, but I can see where some could get quite upset by this. Now I must admit, $9.22 per week still seems pretty pricey for the humiliation of allowing someone to weigh you......but the program works, making it worth the cost. You will find that there are many people attending meetings who have the same weight loss issues as you....and you can laugh about it....cry about it..... learn from it....and enjoy yourself. Yes, I said ENJOY yourself while losing weight. For anyone wanting to "shed a few" and needing a face-to-face support group, Weight Watcher's on-site program using Monthly Pass is an affordable, supportive, and enjoyable option.
