Who would have thought that anything so simple as a pair of tongs could be such a big deal to me? I just bought my fourth pair of tongs because I just couldn't get it right. The first pair was o.k., but the spring mechanism broke. The second pair takes a very strong grip to use it which tends to annoy me. The third pair has silicone "grabbers" which is cool, but they are so slippery that nothing sticks to them, making it very difficult to pick anything up with them. Can you believe all the drama just for a pair of tongs?!

Yesterday, in my mailbox there was a cool coupon from J.C. Penney that said if bought something for $10 I would get $10 off. How cool is that? I was planning a trip to the mall area anyway today, so I decided to see if I could find another style of cooking tongs that might actually work out for me so I could just forget about it and grab ones that work right when I need them.

I think today was the day I found the ones that are going to work for me. The picture shown is of the first time I used them. They have a nice grip on the "grabber" end and the spring action isn't too tight for me. So far, so good.

After the coupon, I paid less than $5 these tongs. They were on sale for $14.99 and then I got $10 off. Such a deal!
