It's hard to go into any beauty store without seeing Bare Escentuals (BE) products, or to open any women's magazine without reading about how fabulous this foundation is. Sadly though, I just don't see what all the hype is for!
Color selection is decent and I think most people will be able to find a good match for their skin tone. Price is also reasonable considering how expensive many foundations are these days. Well, that's about where my enthusiasm for this foundation ends. Using this product is messy and unnecessarily tricky because the powder has a tendency to leak out of the container and spill when you remove the lid or simply toss it in a travel bag or purse. Application requires "swirling, " "tapping, " and "buffing"...I'd much rather squeeze a tube of tinted moisturizer onto my fingertips and apply it directly to my face.
The end results of this foundation are less than stellar. My skin is naturally even-toned, but this made it look sort of "blah." My usually invisible pores looked freakishly visible and the overall finish just seemed unnatural to say the least.
I understand that a lot of people love this BE foundation, but after my experience (and repeated trials), I just can't help but wonder why.
