What I like most about this book and the Wheel of Time series is that it gives off a feeling that their world is real. The people in the fantasy world have culture, trade, and lives. After reading this book, my standards were lifted and I started seeing that other books by other fantasy authors miss a lot.
If you've read Lord of the Rings, you'll definitely like this book, but expect that this is better.
The Shadow Rising is the fourth book in the Wheel of Time series, and it doesn't disappoint me after reading the first three books. After wielding Callandor and proving to the world that he is the Dragon Reborn, as well as defeating one of the Forsaken, Rand decides to move to the Aiel Waste, where the People of the Dragon live. Rand reveals the history of the Aiel, and proves himself to the Aiel.
Mat, on the other hand, enters the ter'Angreal and comes out with a sword-spear, as well as the memories of his past lives. He has the experience of thousands of previous generals, which makes him one of the best in leading armies.
The main characters will be dealing with separate battles against the Forsaken in this book.
Buy this! It's one of the best fantasy books out there.
