A final stop of a long day of Christmas shopping brought my husband and I to Walgreens. We went there to buy some Russell Stover tins of Chocolates that has been part of the weekly advertised sale. I thought they would make a great addition to the teacher gift basket I was making. The tins were on sale for $8.99 each and with a $2 coupon in hand and a $10 rebate when you bought 2, I thought it was a great bargain.

We really only needed on tin for the gift I was putting together so we decided to treat ourselves to sampling the second tin of chocolates. The tins display Santa on the front and are very cute. They open with a hinged lid. The chocolates inside come in a variety of rectangle, circle and square shapes and in dark and milk chocolate varieties. There was no sheet that said what chocolates were in the tin as you find with Hershey and Whitman chocolates.

So, we dug in- over the course of two weeks mind you. My favorite chocolates are always the truffle, chocolate filled candies. I hoped to find a few. Instead there was one lonely chocolate filled candy. There was also one coconut, one peanut chocolate cluster and one coconut chocolate cluster. Quite yummy. The rest of the chocolates were unknown nougat type flavors, fruit filled and caramels. Those chocolates were no bad, but were lacking in flavor.

Overall, the chocolates were good, but nothing I would choose for myself again. If you like truffles, chocolate filled and coconut candies you may want to select a Hershey Pot of Gold or Whitman's chocolate variety. On the other hand, if you like strawberry and raspberry filled and nougat chocolates these would be a great choice for you.
