This book is recommended for preschoolers and includes a peg puzzle. The wooden pieces are a touch and feel learning for the preschooler. As you read the story the wooden pieces fit into the book. Each piece has the feeling of a soft felt, and a peg for easy placing in the book. The book is a good size for reading and play, as are the animal pieces that you put into the book. The heavy duty book and wooden pieces are going to last along time.

The book is about different animals and how they help a baby elephant find his lost mother and herd. With the help of the parrot, lion, zebra, alligator, monkey, snake, and the tiger, the little elephant will find his family. At the end of the book there is a place where the child can match the animal pieces with the letters that their names begin with. Also there is a puzzle tray to store the pieces when not in use. Putting the pieces in the book/ or tray helps your child with visual perception.

The book has a good story and teaches some facts about wild animals. This is both a book and peg puzzle, but the delight the toddler will get will help with his creativity and development.
