I'm at home today and decided to bake Easter bread. I got out my Kichen Aid mixer that I just got for Christmas. Today is only the second time I've used it as I am not a very frequent cook or baker. The first time was to mix a boxed cake mix. I usually make Easter bread by hand because the old mixer that I used to have could not handle the dough. The motor would grind and smoke every time the dough started forming a ball and it just wasn't worth the hassle to clean it up afterwards. I was a bit nervous but I put the dough hook on the Kitchen Aid and started pouring in the flour. I had to go back and forth on the speed a bit because the flour was flying everywhere. Did I mention that I am not a very good cook? But the dough formed a perfect ball and the motor didn't grind or smoke one bit! Perhaps, knowing how powerful this mixer is, it will inspire me to cook and bake more often!
