I never thought I could get excited about a refrigerator. Yet, here I am, wondering how I lived without my beloved Whirlpool ED2FHEXTL in Satina.
The Whirlpool ED2FHEXTL is a 21.8 cu. ft side by side refrigerator that comes in white on white, bisque on bisque, black on black, satina stainless look, and stainless steel. It has a filtered water and ice dispensing system, gallon-size door bins, adjustable slide-out "SpillGuard" glass shelves and a humidity-controlled crisper.
We chose the Satina for 2 reasons. 1, it looks just like stainless steel, which is what we wanted. 2, it resists fingerprints. You know how blotchy stainless steel can get (our dishwasher, which I'll review later, is stainless, and is frequently smudgy) -- satina resists fingerprints. I think this bears repeating a third time: Satina resists fingerprints! Hooray! We have a 2 year old and a 5 year old, and our fridge always looks great!
This fridge is beautiful and the perfect size for our family of 4. The slide-out shelves help tremendously -- I am petite, and it makes it much easier to get things from the back, and they are easier to clean. The 3 drawers make keeping the fridge organized a breeze, and I love the gallon-sized door bins (2 gallons of milk fit perfectly). The crisper, with its own humidity control, really seems to keep my veggies, well, crisper -- much longer than my old fridge. My meat drawer (which can be a second crisper as well) seems to keep my cold cuts longer as well... although this could be because my old fridge had no drawers at all and my cold cuts kept getting lost.
We use the water/ice dispenser many, MANY times a day. I will say that the only thing I dislike is that the icemaker is in the freezer (as opposed to in the door) and takes up alot of freezer space. That being said, it still holds more than my old freezer, and all the shelves make it SO easy to find things.
I adore my new fridge and would recommend it to anyone!
