Frustration! Downtime! Frustration! If you are considering satellite internet, think twice. If you have cable. stick with it. I live in an area where there is no DSL line for phone but can get dial up. Dial up was such a pain. It was very slow and got bumped off regularly. We have satellite TV so I thought we would go and pay the extra money to get satellite internet. Very expensive to set up and expensive monthly payments but wanted more speed and off the phone line. I wish I would listen to people. Sometimes we just have to find out for ourselves. Yes, I still have satellite internet. Why? I don't know. I guess too afraid to go back to dial up. Satellite internet is different from satellite TV. The guy explained it to me but I am not electronically minded. TV works great with very few problems under Directv. Wildblue is the internet company referred to us from Directv for our area. Here is the kicker about satellite internet: If it rains for six days, No Internet! This has happened to me-six whole days. So if you have a business at home, look out. You can't afford to be down. Mine goes down if the clouds are heavy and no rain. So if I want to keep up with a site as such, virtually impossible. I wrote a review to be sent to site and totally lost the review two times. What are you to do? I think the county or city needs to get cable in our area. I mean, we are not that far out from the main hub. For now, I will keep putting along with satellite internet. Keep hoping for sunny days & no bad weather. If you don't hear from me, you can figure that girl has bad weather today.
