This is a lovely backpacker hostel located in the historic city of Stirling, Scoland. Stirling is a historic town and has an awesome medieval castle. Seriously. The castle is awesome, go to Scotland, go check it out. Stirling isn't too far away from anything either, as it's right between Glasgow and Edinburgh. Willy Wallace hostel is a friendly, cheap hostel located next to the train and bus stations right in the town centre. It's in a nice building with a security code at the door so nobody can just wander in off the street. I stayed in Dorm 3, which has 10 beds. The beds are all named after famous people, so I was Russell Crowe. This gave me a laugh. The beds are what I expected from a hostel. Clean, reasonable comfortable and good enough for the price. I also loved how we had a big window facing out onto the main street so we could check out what was going on (but the hostel is on the 3rd floor, so it isn't too noisy).
The best part of this hostel is the common room. There's a TV, lots of tables and chairs and really excellent people. Everyone was friendly and helpful. The staff were awesome and the kitchen was also really well equipped. It's nice to have more than one set of pots available, and have a nice spacious fridge when you're used to some of the dismal kitchens in other hostels. Another good thing about this hostel was that there is a huge Tesco within walking distance. So an awesome home cooked dinner is always only a few minutes away.
This is one of the good hostels out there. If you go to Stirling, there isn't much choice for cheap accomodations, but thats OK because Willy Wallace is an excellent choice.
