I use these wilton cake pans for my son's birthday each year and sometimes my husbands too. Overall, I really like them. I like that there is a huge variety to choose from so almost any thing or character can be found. The price is also right. I would rather pay to buy a specific pan each year and make it myself then pay a grocery store for some store bought cake.
It is constructed very well and I have never had a problem with one of them. They bake up the cake nice so heat distribution doesn't seem to be a problem either. Although the cake rises more in the middle, as any cake would, so you must cut it off before flipping so that it lays flat. It is quite lightweight but doesn't seem to affect the baking process at all. The handle comfort is fine. I mean it doens't really have anything to grab it by, but since some are used for decor in a kitchen I can see why and I am fine with that.
I don't usually use them more then a couple of times but they have always been durable and look never used when I am done with them. The one negative about them is that they are harder to clean, but in order to get the features to bake in the pan needs to be designed this way.
The instructions are included for frosting which I have never used but it is nice and of course there is a color picture on the insert. I do save my inserts and put the right back in after washing so I know where they are. Owning the different pans they make has made my son's birthdays always special and I would recommend them to anyone. They are quite simple to do and much easier then you would imagine.
