This is perhaps the best operating system out there today. And it is the coolest and best looking OS as well. The Microsoft’s latest venture is a real tribute to the eyes. The OS maybe a let down in terms of the performance, but the eyecatching beauty is to be commended. The feature rich Vista is available in four major versions.

The Vista Ultimate is the best of the lot with all the features of all the three lower versions. The Ultimate has graphic and security features highly superior to the last version, XP. The graphics features like, Aero, live thumbnails, transparency, flip 3D, live search etc., are highly engaging to the eyes. The security features like parental controls, virtual files, etc., give high security to the applications and files you have in the system. The file system is also much changed. You can now decide the size and look of the icons.

The updated versions of Windows media player and Internet Explorer with tabbed browsing capability are really cool to look at. The media playing is now really amazingly easy through the Windows Media Center. The Media center is part of the Ultimate suite. You can view specific cable programs or you can arrange to record the required programs for future viewing.

But the major letdown of the system is the poor performance owing to the huge resources it requires to run. The software compatibility is also not commendable as the system supports only the softwares released after its release.
