This is my husband's most recent kitchen toy. It can be used on solids and liquids and everything in between. The blending rod and the wire whisk can both be used directly into a big bowl or pot on the stove to create smooth, creamy sauces. I have even seen him use it to make a very large glass of Ovaltine or instant pudding. The chopping bowl is a miniature food processor, just enough room for a few cups of vegetables or cheese, without the mess of tradtional food processors. The bonus rack keeps the wand and the two wand attachments, but not the mixing bowl, up on your wall for easy access. There are two speeds, "On" and "Turbo", for a little extra power. We have made marinades, glazes, mixed drinks since we got it, and all were quick and easy to prepare with the help of our friendly little immersion blender. I most recently used it at Thanksgiving to mash sweet potatoes and it blended them into the smooth consistency I desired with very little time and effort.
