World Without End is the follow up novel to Ken Follett's The Pillars of the Earth. World Without End starts off about 200 years after The Pillars of the Earth ends. Most of the characters that appear in World Without End are descended from the main characters in The Pillars of the Earth. Kingsbridge is the setting still and the monastery of course is the main focal point of the novel.

Four children witness a murder in the forest outside of Kinsbridge and this eye witness activity weaves their lives together. a letter that is buried with only one child as an eye witness and this child must keep this secret for most of his adult life until the man who buried the letter dies. The towns people have to also battle a plague epidemic and the non since greedy ways of the monastery.

If you read The Pillars of the Earth and enjoyed it then you will also enjoy World Without End. Many of the characters that are in The Pillars of the Earth are mentioned in World Without End. It is was also interesting to read about places 200 years later. Even though the centeries have changed and the characters are not the same there is still the same drama, heartache, love and passion and trials in World Without End as there were in The Pillars of the Earth. It is a perfect sequel just as good as the first. I would highly recomend this novel to anyone who has read The Pillars of the Earth and if you have not read either then I highly recomend you read them both.

The paper back version is 1014 pages long.
