The Yellow Submarine Songtrack shouldn't be confused with the film's soundtrack - this differs yet holds a similar track listing. The Songtrack has a lot of the same tracks, but deletes the instrumental tracks that made up the second side of the original Soundtrack album. Got it?

I picked this CD up from the local library and I was inspired to buy it for myself later. The Yellow Submarine Soundtrack is sort of a boon for anyone who doesn't have Sgt. Pepper or The Magical Mystery Tour in their collection, as songs from those albums largely make up this one. It also includes the full tracklisting of Yellow Submarine, meaning you get Hey Bulldog and the fantastic Only A Northern Song.

This is a strong, trippy album indeed.

I couldn't find a weak track in the whole thing, and it includes hits from Revolver, Rubber Soul and the aforementioned albums above. This CD is especially recommended for people without much of a Beatles collection, or one with large gaps in the later years.

Beautiful stuff.
