The Knowing, a movie that hit screen in 2009, stars Nicholas Cage, who ends up devoting his time to try to crack a code. Many years prior a classroom had written notes and sealed them in a time capsule. Many years later when the capsule is open Nicholas' son is presented with this paper that has nothing on it. Cage soon learns the numbers that were written turns out to be dates of when major world disasters occured, the location, and how many people were killed. At the bottom of the paper, the last equation is not completed. The date is shown, but the location and how many people die are not completed. Cage tracks down the daughter of the woman who wrote the numbers in order to protect the world. He makes many attempts to stop these disasters, but fails.
Throughout the whole movie, I kept making these predictions on who people were and what their motive was. I kept wondering who would die and if the world would be saved. The movie takes a twist at the end when he finally realizes what the last set of numbers is. This is one of the best movies I have encountered. It really had me jerking at a box of Kleenex's at the end of the movie, and I am not one that usually sheds tears. I was on the edge of my seat the whole time. This was a movie that I actually hated to see end.
I would suggest that all indivuals watch this movie. It is an experience you do not want to miss. It also makes you think about a lot of things and how not to take anything for granted, you never know what tomorrow holds.
