As a fan of the Food Network I was delighted to find that they also have a magazine. The one I just picked up is the December, 2009 Holiday issue chalk full of Christmas cookie recipes, meals for the entire month and great make ahead family meals which are perfect for this time of year.
This magazine measures in at 9 x 11 inches, much larger than your standard rack magazine. My December issue contains 206 pages with ideas and recipes from the stars of the Food Network.
Some of the features I like about this magazine are:
The Recipe Index: I took a picture so that you can see that the two pages give you a picture and name of all the recipes contained in the magazine with their page number. There's no need to thumb through an issue to find something. It's divided into food groups so if you are looking for a dessert, check the pictures to see what this issue has to offer and jump ahead to that page!
Star Search: If you want articles or recipes from your favorite Food Network star you will find them at a glance on this page with a picture of each and the page number to turn to.
You Asked: Read the answer to your questions you've sent into the Food Network stars.....and not all of them deal with cooking questions.
Food Lover's Gift Guide: You can't beat the pages of gift ideas for the people that just love to cook. I found some items I had seen on shows but had no idea where to look for them.
Recipes: What can I say when you are dealing with so many chefs from the Food Network. The magazine is just chalk full of recipes, pictures and complete step by step instructions (pictured) on many of them. One of my favorites is the "Copy That" recipe for the Blooming Onion from Outback Steakhouse.
Light cooking, weeknight cooking, one-pot meals, slow cooker recipes, weekend cooking, make ahead cooking, fabulous desserts and even some decorating tips are what you will find in each issue.
I've purchased magazines from one of these chef's at double the price of what this magazine offers for only $3.99. You can also subscribe for 10 issues a year for only $15.00. This one gets my cooking recommendation!!
