Daily Readings from Your Best Life Now by Joel Osteen is a follow up devotional to his best selling book "Your Best Life Now". I would highly recommend the original book but if you don't have time to digest the full thing, this devotional is great.

Each devotion is approximately 3-4 pages that are a mixture of new content and excerpts from the book Your Best Life Now. The book is broken down into segments with devotions that are based on that particular topic. Each devotion is based on scriptures from the Bible, there is a verse and a recommended passage of scripture to read along with the book. Joel does a wonderful job of relating his own personal struggles, those of people he's come in contact with and blending them with the word of God and the men and women we read about in scripture. Each devotion ends with a prayer.

This book has really helped me as I go through each day to stay focused on the abundant life that God desires for me to live. I've read through it a couple of times, I find it particularly encouraging when I am going through a rough spot to lift my spirits and get my faith and vision back where it needs to be.

I think that even people who do not share the same faith as the author would find this book uplifting. If you are in a certain place in your life and you want to go further and achieve more this book offers sound advice for reaching beyond yourself and achieving your goals and dreams. It even has segments such as "Letting go of Your Past" that will really help if you are struggling with any issues of that nature and want to be free to move on.

I really can't say enough about how encouraging and helpful this book as been to me and I hope that others will find it to be the same for them!

The only downside is that if you have actually read Your Best Life Now, there are a lot of excerpts from the book in the devotions so you read again what you've already read but that's not such a bad thing. It is just a little redundent sometimes. My only complaint though, wonderful devotional overall!
