Zapped is another good mystery in the Regan Reilly Mysteries written by Carol Higgins Clark.
In Zapped, a lot of things are going on. Here is a sampling. New York City experiences a blackout, and Regan and Jack Reilly must track down a vengeful woman who preys on blond men and actually puts her brand on them. The Reillys' new loft, just recently purchased, is also being renovated, and when Regan enters the apartment, she thwarts the efforts of a thief lurking there who locks Regan on the roof of their building. The Reillys are not aware of a hidden safe in their loft that contains some items the soon-to-be ex-wife of the previous owner is desperate to get back in her possession. A new SoHo gallery is vandalized and is missing some very valuable glass sculptures, and Regan and Jack manage to get mixed up in everything. It certainly helps that Regan is a private investigator and Jack is the head of the NYPD Major Case Squad. They need all the skills they have to get New York back on its feet and to solve all of the mysteries that are going on.
An interesting book by the daughter of Mary Higgins Clark. I have read about four or five of the Regan Reilly Mysteries so far and have enjoyed every one.
