Ever since I started using a computer on a daily basis, I've found that I no longer enjoy those times that I'm forced to put pen to paper and write something by hand. The only thing that can help make that task more palatable for me now, is if I have a nice, comfortable pen to use. There are a lot of nice pens out there for some outrageous prices, but for me, the pen I prefer is the Zebra M-402 which can be had for around $5 at your local office supply store.
These pens have a stainless steel barrel and a rubberized grip, which gives them a nice feel in your hand. It has just the right amount of weight without being too heavy to be cumbersome. The clickable button has worked smoothly, and without fail for the years I've owned my pen, and the metal pocket clip is as convenient and sturdy as it was the day I bought it.
Whenever I've bought these pens, they've always come with a medium point, black ink cartridge which writes very smoothly with no blotting or smudging. My preference, though, is for Zebra's fine point blue ink cartridges, so I usually end up replacing the ones that come included with the pens, right away.
So, while finding a comfortable pen to use can sometimes be a difficult, and expensive endeavor, it doesn't always have to be. If you're in the market for a new pen, and you have a spare $5 in your pocket, consider buying yourself a Zebra M-402.
