It's Zoo Tycoon not much to say. This game picks up on all the points from the computer without any dinosaurs or any marina in here, but has all the fun from the original Zoo Tycoon. The game is fun, but gets boring quickly with some minor stupid stuff. For example, your not able to take down fences at the last minute of a florishing Zoo and reak havoc among it and there's no mixing of animals which prevents the giant savannah like landscapes with Zebras, Elephants, and Flamingos. But, a nice fact is that the zookeepers stay in their animals cage; this helps prevent starvation and dirty exhibits that happened a lot in the computer version.
It has the original zoo tycoon menu music which is cool to hear everytime you turn it on and it has cool ambient noises of all the people. When there's a crowd of people you can hear them mumbling about something or other which is a great touch. Its also cool to hear the roar or squawk of an animal when you place it down in the exhibit. The sound is of no high quality, but is really cool overall to have these little touches.
It's impossible to see the animals in the exhibits. Some animals I have had to squint at because of the badly design graphics of them. It's hard to get really good graphics on a handheld DS game, but the animals and the people could have had a nice re-make. If there was a nice 3-D look to the game just so all the graphics didn't look like tiles it would help a lot.
I have been a huge fan of the series, but this game was somewhat of a disappointment. No cool dinosaurs or special animals, only one game save at a time, bad graphics and many more bad tweaks to the game would definitely not make this game to buy. Try borrowing it from a friend who wasted their money on it, but its not a recommended buy.
Final Score: 3.2
It's alright for pick up and play every so often, but nothing special to get excited about hopefully a second one is made to direct these issues for a great Zoo Tycoon game on the DS.
